On most days you can find Kathlene at HIITLAG class, she has been with us since the very beginning. She is an awesome workout partner with her positive attitude and encouraging smile. Kathlene's physical transformation was obvious to her classmates and instructors, and we wanted to learn more about this strong mom and how she makes time for fitness.
How do you make time for fitness in your busy life?
I do what I can to make it all work. Some days I wake up early or even do a little work in the parking lot before class. It helps that my kids have made friends there so they enjoy coming with me when they're not in school. To be a good mom I think I need to make my health a priority.
What is your favorite HIITLAG exercise or class?
I love the HIIT class. It's always different and fun which keeps me coming back. The Piyo and Yoga classes are great too because I have never tried them. It's fun to try them as a group so I don't feel intimidated being the only newbie.
What inspires you to exercise on a daily basis?
I feel like I put my family first in so many areas of my life and this is one thing I do for myself. I think it's great to be a role model for my kids but honestly I do it for me!
How has HIITLAG class benefited your health?
I have never stuck to a routine this long and I love seeing the difference it has made. I have muscles I've never had before! It has also improved my balance and my energy. I used to have really weak knees and I don't anymore.
What is your favorite healthy snack or meal?
I love popcorn! I just found a new jalapeno flavor in Skinny Pop. Love it!
Where can we find you when you are not in class?
I spend a lot of time tied to my computer at home working but I am very lucky to work from home so I can fit in some extra time in the early morning or evening and still shuttle the kids to school and sports. I also like to be outdoors with my family and I can't wait for summer!
